Merrie joins the SRS team with nearly 20 years of radio research experience. She specializes in Strategic Market Studies and callout research, as well as managing SRS’ research operations.
Merrie’s research requirements and quality-control procedures are second-to-none, and she has an amazing ability to spin a lot of different plates at the same time, whether it is managing intricate statistical research for perceptual studies or liaising with local fieldwork houses around the world. She laughs when she recalls the start of her career managing research projects, when there was no email or internet to communicate with local interviewing partners – her best friends were the fax machine and a telephone book!
Until joining SRS in January, 2007, Merrie spent six years at Broadcast Architecture, a research unit within Clear Channel Radio, most recently as Senior Vice President/Research Operations. She managed all of the company’s project management team, supervised analysis of strategic research and fieldwork for all research projects. Previously, she spent 10 years with The Research Group in Seattle in various operational capacities in addition to moderating music tests. She was part of the team that launched The Research Group’s operations outside the USA in 1991.
Merrie is a native of Washington State and graduated from Central
Washington University. When she’s not running her children to their
sporting activities, she spends most of her time hiking and golfing
and enjoying the view of Mt. Rainier out her back door!
